The Russian Alphabet / part 1 | Learn with Starusian

The Russian alphabet is Cyrillic, it has 33 letters:

10 vowels

21 consonants

2 signs

ъ – hard sign, ь – soft sign

Each letter has an upper and a lower case. The letters might seem overwhelming a bit but no worries, the most of the Russian sounds are present in English as well, some of them even are written in the same way. For example, these letters (Аа, Мм, Ее, Кк, Оо, Тт) look and sound like in English.

Besides, to write and read in Russian you need to learn two forms of the letters: the printed and the cursive versions. Let’s look through the printed version of the alphabet.
